CHECK OUT MY EMERGENCY EVACUATION ARTICLE IN TODAY'S HORSE TRADER:
Check out the June issue of Today's Horse Trader for my article on preparing for an emergency evacuation with your horse. Don't be caught with your guard down. I know we've had some much-needed moisture in parts of Colorado lately, but we all know how quickly we can be back into Red Flag Warning conditions. Pick up a free copy of Today's Horse Trader at your local tack and feed stores. If you're a member of the Colorado Horse Council, watch for it in your mail. Coming next month: Trailer Loading Without a Trailer.
TRAILS AND OPEN SPACE COALITION:
I'm thrilled to announce that I've just been elected to the Trails and Open Space Coalition Board of Directors! This is a non-profit group in the Pikes Peak area whose mission is "working to preserve open space and rural land; and create a network of trails, bikeways and greenways in the Pikes Peak region." (Parks have also recently been added to this mission.) This is a great opportunity to have a hand in the planning and development of various areas and make sure we retain our current riding areas as well as add new ones as the trail network in the Pikes Peak area grows. As I learn more, I will keep you informed on how you also can make a difference and get involved.
