Debbie is becoming well known along the Colorado Front Range as a gifted clinician and teacher. Her passion shows through as she teaches owners how to communicate and develop that special relationship with their horses in their journey of Building The Horse Of A Lifetime™.
Debbie has worked with horses since she was a young girl. When she was six years old, she began taking riding lessons. Later that year, her parents bought her a weanling quarter horse filly. She learned a lot from that horse who grew up to be a big challenge for a young new rider.
Debbie has worked as a riding instructor at National Girl Scout Center West, teaching teenagers the art of horse packing and camping in the Wyoming backcountry. It was here she developed her strong trail riding skills as she managed groups of 10 girls accompanied by a string of pack horses on six-day pack trips.
Debbie has worked with a great variety of horses. Her true passion is helping owners develop their relationships with their horses above and beyond the owners' greatest expectations. Nothing is more enriching to the soul than helping others realize their dreams.
Debbie has developed her Building The Horse Of A Lifetime™ training program to emphasize the essential elements of training the best horse you have ever had: Communication, Relationship and Performance.
Debbie's program works for any horse, regardless of breed, age, personality or past experiences. The principles also work for riders of all levels - from beginners to advanced riders. In 2006, Debbie began work on her 10-Minute Horse Trainer™ program. This new approach to training shows owners how to meet the challenges of working with their horses while balancing today's hectic lifestyle.
In developing her program, Debbie pulls strongly from John Lyons' and Richard Shrake's teachings, but also has been influenced by other top clinicians such as Clinton Anderson, Chris Cox, Pat and Linda Parelli and Dennis Reis. In 2001, Debbie become one of the first John Lyons Certified Trainers in the Pikes Peak region and studied with him again at his Professional Trainers Clinic in 2005.
Debbie has presented at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo for the past five years, including "Creating the Ultimate Trail Horse" in 2005, 2006 and 2008, Building The Horse Of A Lifetime™ (2007), horse training discussions at the Running D Ranch booth (2004) and "Riding the Willing Horse" (2003). Debbie has also been a featured presenter at Front Range Equine Rescue's Equine Educational Day (2006-2008) and Purina Horse Owners' Workshops (2004-2006).
